It’s not all the time that I pay attention to the Google doodle. But I was very happy this morning to see that they are celebrating the 76th birthday of Roger Hargreaves, author of the Mr Men.

I don’t know if you remember, but a while ago I wrote about Mr Happy. Since then, we’ve been gathering a large selection of vintage Mr Men books for sale in the shop. We’ll try and get them online soon – for now, you have to pop in. The perfect birthday present for that thirty-to-fortyfive year old in your life… or five year old if you are a more serious person.

A little while ago, Mr Happy appeared on the editor’s page of Elle Decoration. Now Google. I feel there is something in the air. Here at Ben P towers, we are not often ahead of the curve, but the Mr Men is something I’m very happy to see again!

I had bought the entire series for my son when he was a toddler- bought them a few at a time. They still have a place on his bookshelf even though he is 14 now! Just the other day I found a Mr Lazy mug and had to buy it for him. But losing an original Mr Funny is just awful. I came here via Katy Elliott’s blog and am glad I did. I am slowly making my way through the archives.
