Broad bean green

One of my favourite things about this time of year is walking out to the garden and picking broad beans before they are really ready. Pea sized beans somehow just taste better. But most of all – I am in love with that colour.

I had my neighbours round for supper last night. A lovely evening. I snapped a picture of the kitchen in the minutes before everyone arrived. It looked a little more chaotic a few hours later.

Odd that we describe green as ‘pea’ but never ‘broad bean’ … I love the colour of young broad beans too, and more importantly the flavour!

Gorgeous beans and table. The color of the candlesticks pops against those amazing turquoise glasses.
