you aren’t missing anything on the party front; nothing but shouting and shoving, flabby canapes and too-fizzy champagne, and, worst of all, faux jollity. Real friends, a real fire, and real conversation… That’s Jolly!

Good choice with the west wing. I can honestly say I was doing the exact same thing, but with Port.

There is NOTHING better. I am glad to have found a current west wing watcher. Most people roll their eyes and say ‘oh man that’s soooo 2001. Okay, okay. But I’m watching it ten years late, and it hasn’t dated one second.

Love this room…and loved the article for the FT. made me laugh out loud…more than once!

That is the cosiest, most inviting room imaginable. You have some wonderful art. May I ask where your lovely blue stemmed lamp came from?

Hello! It’s made by my friend Marianna Kennedy, and we sell them in the shop, here

Hello – thank you! The one at the back is from the Conran shop, although I haven’t seen anything quite the same for a while there. The one at the front is Josef Frank from Liberty.

love the fabric on the green/white pillows. do you remember the source for them? lovely article for the ft, btw.
