Have the Happiest Christmas with love from all of us

Here is a little sneak preview of the next blog; a photograph of Peter Hone’s drawing room – which in its own fragile white way is about as Christmassy as you could get, without looking like Christmas at all.

Next week we we hear a tale all about Peter and his extremely naughty dog Basil. I don’t suppose Father Christmas will be stopping off for Basil. Peter, of course, is extremely good.

But in the meantime have the happiest Christmas ever, with love from Ben and Charlie, and of course from Bridie and all at Pentreath & Hall.  I hope you have a restful, gentle, peaceful day with your family and friends, or if you prefer, just by yourself.

I hope you have had a wonderful Christmas. It has been still, frosty and beautiful here in Wiltshire. I have so enjoyed your posts. Also enjoyed teaching the other Pentreath this last term!
Best Wishes for 2015

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you! Thank you, Ben, for another year of fine companionship, photography, and inspiration. Thank you, Charlie, for making Ben so happy (and I’m sure it is reciprocated!)and thank you, Bridie and everyone at P&H for spreading the word! Wishing you all the best, now and in the future.

Hugs,

Diane

Happy Christmas Ben. Thank you so much for your blog, such a bright spot in every week. Wishing you and Charlie, and your families, a wonderful, peaceful, happy Christmas season X

Thank you so much for lightening the beginning of everybody’s week. I often think to myself “oh I do hope Ben is having a lovely weekend” because I know that we will all have the pleasure of reading all about it on Monday or whenever you have the time to post. I agree with another of your correspondents who said “keep doing what you’re doing.” It works Ben and we all appreciate it so much. Oh I can’t wait for the Tales of Basil

I think that picture of Peter Hone’s drawing room is probs the most beautiful thing I’ve seen all week – the caramels, whites and creams are completely seductive. I want to spoon it all up in a big Georgian spoon and eat it.

And thank gawd for naughty dogs. Providing they’re not my own Great Dane. Who is more than naughty enough for the whole universe of dogs, and whose naughtiness too often ends at the vet’s.

Happy Christmas to you and Charlie. May you have many more together. And also to Bridie.

Discovering your blog was a highlight of 2014 for me. I love your book too! You have
turned me onto unfitted kitchens, much to my husband’s dismay as he sees nothing wrong with kitchen cabinets.
